NEW ORLEANS, La. – There’s some progress trending in the right direction for the New Orleans Saints for one major piece on their offensive line, but in exchange, some negative progress when it comes to depth.
Here is the information from the Thursday practice report:
New Orleans Saints
Out
- OL Dillon Radunz (Toe)
Did Not Participate
- T Taliese Fuaga (Knee/Back)
- DE Chase Young (Calf)
- WR Trey Palmer (Hamstring)
Limited Participation
- WR Devaughn Vele (Hip)
- T/G Trevor Penning (Toe)
Penning continues to trend the right direction, hoping to get back into the action on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
Radunz is already ruled out, as the Saints are traveling Thursday night to get to Seattle. They will practice at the University of Washington on Friday. It is intriguing that while they did make that decision, they kept Young and Fuaga in the mix for now.
A mid-week injury to Vele makes the wide receiver room one to watch along with the offensive line going into Sunday’s game.
Seattle Seahawks
Did Not Participate
- RB Zach Charbonnet (Foot)
- S Nick Emmanwori (Ankle)
- S Julian Love (Hamstring)
- CB Devin Witherspoon (Knee)
Limited Participation
- WR Tory Horton (Groin)
Full Participation
- LB Derrick Hall (Hip)
- CB Josh Jobe (Knee)
- LB Ernest Jones (Shoulder)
- T Abraham Lucas (Elbow)
The Seahawks see three key players in their secondary missing a second-consecutive day of practice. This will be a major development to continue watching as if any combination of Love, Emmanwori or Witherspoon are out, that could create a great opportunity for Saints’ quarterback Spencer Rattler and the offense to attack through the air.
Additionally, the Seahawks could wind up being without Charbonnet, but with Kenneth Walker III and the potential elevation of practice squad running back Damien Martinez, there are still considerable threats in the run game to account for on defense.
