Kickoff in Oxford is less than 48 hours away, and Caden Durham’s status remains unclear.
The LSU running back is recovering from an ankle injury he sustained against Southeastern Louisiana.
“He is questionable,” LSU head coach Brian Kelly said. “He’s gotten better each day. But we’ve got to take Friday. We’ve got to take right up to Saturday to make a final decision on him and give him a chance. He wants to play. We told him, the only way this is going to work is if we give him the whole week and right up to game time.”
LSU does have talented options if Durham is held out.
“All three of them are a little bit different. Ju’Juan (Johnson) is dynamic, sees the field, can catch it. And then Harlem (Berry)’s got home run ability in terms of hitting it. And then Kaleb (Jackson) has been really good. He had a solid week last week. Physicality, size, blocking, pass protection. So, if Caden can’t answer the bell it will be a combination of all three.”
LSU will release an availability report Thursday evening and a final version Friday evening. The team departs for Mississippi Friday afternoon. Kickoff between the Tigers and Rebels is set for just after 2:30 from Vaught Hemingway Stadium in Oxford.
