ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The New Orleans Saints are hanging in with the Buffalo Bills through the first half of their matchup down by a close score of just 14-10. However, it’s not been all good news for the Saints who saw one of their starting offensive linemen carted off with injury at halftime.
Saints’ starting right guard Cesar Ruiz was evaluated for an ankle injury late in the first half. Afterward, as both teams were exiting the field following the second quarter, Ruiz did so on a cart.

The Saints had just gotten their starting five offensive linemen back with left guard Trevor Penning and right tackle Taliese Fuaga both available this week.
Replacing him is undrafted rookie lineman Torricelli Simpkins who impressed during the preseason at center. Simpkins made his regular season debut last week, taking over the left guard role while injuries impacted that side of the line.
Simpkins was credited with five total pressures against the Seattle Seahawks by Pro Football Focus.
