The city of Tampa will be the site of several big weekends for SEC football in the next few years. The annual SEC Media Days festivities will be in Tampa, Florida next summer, accordine to Brett McMurphy of On3.
2026 SEC Media Days is headed to Tampa July 20-23, sources told @On3sports. It’s 1st time event will be held in Florida. Tampa also will host the 2027 Florida-Georgia game & the 2028 College Football Playoff title game on Jan. 22, 2029https://t.co/hpSASpLakC

It will be the first time Media Days has been in Tampa and the fourth different location in as many years. Tampa has hosted the SEC men’s and women’s basketball tournaments in recent years, but never the four-day event in July.
This will begin a string of major college football events with (hopeful) SEC ties to it in the next several years. Tampa will also be the host site for the 2027 Georgia-Florida game as Jacksonville’s stadium is under construction. Raymond James Stadium will also host the 2028 College Football national championship game for the first time since 2017.
