Texas fans, front and center. You have a lot of explaining to do and even more apologizing to do considering how rampantly defensive Longhorn fans have been in our comment section.

The Bottom Six

16. Texas

15. Kentucky

14. Arkansas

13. Auburn

12, South Carolina

11. Mississippi State

The Top 10

  1. Florida

How ‘bout them Florida Gators? Billy Napier showed once again that he is apparently Nick Saban when his job is on the line. Huge win for Florida, and now the question becomes can they do it all over again?

  1. LSU

There is no better way for LSU to get back on track than with South Carolina, and their putrid offense coming to town this Saturday. Hopefully Garrett Nussmeier was in bubble wrap all week.

  1. Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt ran the ball decently well on Saturday. However, it wasn’t nearly as much as they ran their mouths all offseason. Still, the Commodores could’ve easily won that game, and it was much closer than the score would indicate.

  1. Tennessee

Tennessee was on a bye week, but came into the month of October having scored 40 or more points in their first five consecutive games. That’s the first time in program history they have scored over 40 points in five consecutive games.

  1. Georgia

Georgia needed a get-right win after the Alabama loss and before they head to Jordan-Hare this weekend for the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. Also, shoutout to Kentucky’s kicker for missing a chip shot 25 yard field goal right before halftime and helping cover the first half spread of -11.5 and full game at -20.5. He’s the real MVP.

The Top 5

  1. Missouri

The Tigers were on a bye. There’s a pretty strong argument they should be higher up on this list and ahead of Alabama. They currently have the No. 4 ranked offense and No. 2 ranked defense in all of college football. However, they’ve done that against the No. 109 ranked strength of schedule.

  1. Alabama

Maybe the best thing that could’ve happened to this team was the loss to Florida State. This team has clearly played to a different level ever since that game. They are top five in the country in passing offense and passing defense, and were finally able to stop the run effectively. They are one of just five teams in the country with one or less turnovers so far this season.

  1. Ole Miss

Ole Miss was one of several SEC teams on a bye week. They haven’t played a ton of competition, but they did beat a top five LSU team and currently have the No. 5 ranked strength of record in FBS.

  1. Texas A&M

There is an extremely valid point here to rank the Aggies No. 1 overall. They had another impressive win over Mississippi State on Saturday. The only reason they aren’t No. 1 this week is that it would be hard to justify moving Oklahoma down a spot after winning 44-0. The Aggies have the No. 1 ranked strength of record in the country and are becoming a problem on offense with all their weapons from the transfer portal.

  1. Oklahoma

Oklahoma keeps the top spot even without quarterback John Mateer. Backup Michael Hawkins came in off the bench and scored four touchdowns. Now comes the Red River Rivalry in Dallas this Saturday where the top five Sooners are an underdog to unranked Texas.
