METAIRIE, La. – The New Orleans Saints may be entering their game against the New England Patriots with the healthiest lineup of impact players for over a year. New Orleans appears to have its full offensive line, top passer and weapons ready to go. However, one player’s questionable status will be worth watching as the game nears.
New Orleans Saints
Out:
CB Isaac Yiadom (hamstring)
Questionable:
DT John Ridgeway III (shoulder)
RB Alvin Kamara (ankle)
No Game Designation (Good to Go):
S Justin Reid (concussion protocol)
C/G Cesar Ruiz (ankle)
T/G Trevor Penning (ankle)
OL Dillon Radunz (toe)
TE Juwan Johnson (ankle)
DT Davon Godchaux (NIR-rest)
DE Chase Young (calf)
With these designations, the Saints are set to have almost a full contingent of their impact players on Sunday. The one designation that will be hanging in the balance will be that of Kamara’s. But there does appear to be some optimism there. Head coach Kellen Moore said that Kamara was “doing well.” Meanwhile, Kamara himself spoke on his injury in brief on Thursday.
“(The injury was) just something in the game,” Kamara said. “That I thought wasn’t that serious, really. And it’s really not that serious, but just a little soreness. So, I was like, ‘Let me go put some ice on this.’”
New England Patriots
Out:
S Jaylinn Hawkins (hamstring)
RB Antonio Gibson (ankle)
LB Anfernee Jennings (ankle)
DE Keion White (elbow)
Questionable:
LB Marte Mapu (neck/hamstring)
CB Christian Gonzalez (hamstring)
CB Charles Woods (knee)
No Game Designation (Good to Go):
LB K’Lavon Chaisson (knee)
DT Joshua Farmer (ankle)
DT Milton Williams (ankle)
DT Christian Barmore (NIR – other)
G Mike Onwenu (shoulder/thigh)
The Patriots have ruled out a pair of pass rushers while another pair of cornerbacks are questionable. New England indicated that Gonzalez’s limited Thursday practice was pre-planned. However, he’s now gone back-to-back on limited days making him a key injury to watch going into Sunday’s game.
