After spending the week managing an ankle injury, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was listed as questionable going into the team’s Week 6 bout with the New England Patriots. However, the optimism shared by him and head coach Kellen Moore throughout the week leading up to the game appears to have come to fruition.
“(The injury was) just something in the game,” Kamara said of the injury on Thursday. “That I thought wasn’t that serious, really. And it’s really not that serious, but just a little soreness. So, I was like, ‘Let me go put some ice on this.’”
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Saints’ running back will play.
Many began to believe that Kamara’s injury was being overblown in order to help keep him off the field amidst rumored trade talks. Not only does this mean that the back will be available this week, but for the foreseeable future despite other teams’ trade interest.
As Kamara has said many times to local media, the running back isn’t willing to leave New Orleans. Per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, it seems he has made the sentiment known again while other clubs try to acquire him via trade.

Kamara appears to be ready to go Sunday against the Patriots, and many Sundays to follow. That is, as long as the star back continues to get his way.
