LSU healed up during the bye week and got out of Saturday night’s win over South Carolina without any significant injuries.
Jimari Butler had to be evaluated by the medical staff on Saturday night, but the results were positive
“He has an ankle, lateral, though, not high ankle,” Kelly said. “I would say that he’s probable if we were to put out a report.”
Kelly rattled through the rest of the banged-up players with positive reports.
“I think we’ve got good news on all of the injuries,” he said. “Aaron Anderson looked good (Saturday). We’ll continue to progress with him. Caden Durham had a hip pointer which was mild but one that affected him a little bit. He’ll be fine. Braelin Moore had a stinger but under control. We took an MRI. It looked good. Paul Mubenga is making progress. We expect him to be available this week. And (Garrett) Nussmeier had a slight ankle sprain, not a high ankle sprain but a medial, and we feel like he’s going to be fine.
Bernard Gooden also had to come off the field on Friday, as well. He’s in some pain, but “serious” injury was avoided.
“Bruised collarbone,” Kelly said. “Very sore right now, but clean. No break, so this is a short time thing and one he’ll have to manage the pain relative to how we go through the week.”
