The junior linebacker was listed as questionable for the Tigers on Wednesday’s initial injury report. Weeks injured his wrist at Ole Miss and saw a reduced role against South Carolina.
Bernard Gooden‘s status for Saturday’s game is now “doubtful” according to the report. The senior defensive tackle bruised his collarbone in the game against South Carolina. On Monday, head coach Brian Kelly suggested Gooden was very sore.
Both Gooden and Weeks are key pieces to the Tigers’ run defense facing the nation’s leader in yards per carry on Saturday.
Defensive end Jimari Butler is also “questionable” with a sprained ankle. LSU’s depth at end was thinner when Gabriel Reliford suffered a shoulder subluxation against Southeastern Louisiana.
Offensively, junior wide receiver Aaron Anderson is “probable” after missing a game and a half with a knee injury. Left guard Paul Mubenga is also probable with a high ankle sprain. He’s also missed a couple of weeks.
