Saturday’s college football action put on display a trio of wide receiver phenoms that are dominating the NCAA game. The trio should be watched and monitored closely by the New Orleans Saints.
New Orleans has a talented room of wide receivers. The world-class speed and ability of Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed specifically shouldn’t be overlooked. However, there’s no guarantee that both remain with the Saints following the 2025 season and, even if they do, the duo could use another physical playmaker to complement them.
Reports suggest that contract extension talks are under way between the Saints and Olave. But the trade market will always live in the background until the Nov. 4 trade deadline has come and gone.
The Saints moved a fourth round pick for big-bodied wideout Devaughn Vele, but have hardly worked him into their attack consistently.
If the Saints go into 2026 with one or both of their top wideouts and Vele in tow, it’s a good start. But these three draftable wideouts would be worth investing in to take the position group from questionable to a group of the team’s best weapons.
Louisville WR Chris Bell
Bell put on a show against the Miami Hurricanes in Louisville’s big win. The big-bodied wideout reeled in nine catches for 136 receiving yards and a pair of touchdown receptions.

The 6-foot-2, 220-plus pound wideout has been sensational this year. He has 44 catches, 638 receiving yards and six touchdown receptions. He’s a unique blend of size, speed and acceleration.
Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson
Tyson appeared to have tweaked his hamstring against Texas Tech on Saturday. After being briefly evaluated on the sideline. He re-entered the game and scored a touchdown. The physical and tough wideout can run routes from anywhere on the field and has the grit and durability to fight through and contribute. All of which will be highly-valued qualities across the NFL.

The 6-foot-2, 200 pound receiver is likely to be the first player at his position to be drafted in April. His middle-of-the-field ability and strong hands make him a real threat at the next level making contested catches in traffic. Add to that his speed and athleticism and line Bell, Tyson is a marvel of a player.
Indiana Hoosiers WR Elijah Sarratt
Sarratt has all the toughness, speed and athleticism that help to make Bell and Tyson such desirable prospects. What separates Sarratt is his attitude. Sarratt is a talker on the field and gives the impression that when he lines up for the snap, he immediately knows he is better and stronger than the player across from him.

During Indiana’s win over Michigan State, the 6-foot-2, 209 pound wideout reeled in four catches for 70 yards and a pair of touchdown receptions. On the year, he has now totaled nine touchdown catches on 43 receptions and 603 receiving yards.
Each of these wide receivers could help the Saints in 2026 and are members of what is turning out to be a deep and talented class at their position. Should New Orleans be in position to draft any top wideout in 2026, they should take the swing and add another young weapon for their future.
