METAIRIE, La. – A trio of big names were missing from Wednesday’s practice as the New Orleans Saints retook the field in preparation for their Week 8 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Players not spotted during the open portion of Saints practice on Wednesday:
- CB Alontae Taylor
- WR Chris Olave
- DE Chase Young
Taylor and Olave were both listed on the Saints’ injury report last week with ankle and hip injuries respectively. Both were able to participate in last week’s game against the Chicago Bears.
Young missed the first five games of the year with a calf injury. Since returning, he has had a major impact on the team’s pass rush. If he’s not available this weekend, it will be a long day for the Saints’ defense in trying to limit the MVP-level play of Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield.
These will be very important injuries to watch throughout the week. Being without even one of this trio could be game-changing for the Saints as they try to rebound off of a rough performance against the Bears
