LSU will likely be short-handed again on defense against Texas A&M.
On the week’s first availability report, junior linebacker Whit Weeks is listed as “Doubtful,” and senior defensive tackle Bernard Gooden remains questionable.
Weeks is dealing with a bone bruise that has relegated him to a walking boot midweek. Gooden, who is listed as “Questionable” is working back from a bruised collarbone. Head coach Brian Kelly said Wednesday that he had gone through some practice on Tuesday and that his status would be monitored all week.
On the positive side, senior defensive end Jimari Butler has been upgraded to “Probable” as his ankle sprain heals.
Offensively, left tackle Tyree Adams is out. Kelly said Monday that redshirt sophomore DJ Chester would likely man that spot in Adams’s absence.
Texas A&M ranks in the top 20 in the country in total offense and scored 45 points in its last outing at Arkansas.
The Aggies will be without starting running back Le’Veon Moss for more time. He was listed as “Out” on Wednesday’s report.
