“That generally taked four-to-five weeks to come back,” Kelly said. “So maybe we’ll have him by the end of the year, maybe not.”
Adams suffered the injury in the first half of the Tigers’ loss at Vanderbilt. He was replaced by veteran swingman DJ Chester. Kelly added that freshman Carius Curne would start in Adams’s place against Texas A&M this Saturday.
That is a change from what Kelly told reporters Monday, when he said Chester would replace Adams against the Aggies.
Chester started all 13 games at center for LSU in 2024. He was replaced this season by transfer Braelin Moore, but has played multiple positions across the line in a reserve role. Curne ran as the backup left tackle throughout fall camp. He started at right tackle against Ole Miss when starter Weston Davis was injured during pregame warmups.
Texas A&M is third in the SEC with 25 sacks on the season.
The Tigers and Aggies kick off Saturday at 6:30 p.m. from Tiger Stadium.
