METAIRIE, La. – The New Orleans Saints have listed three players as questionable going into their West Coast bout with the Los Angeles Rams. All three names are key contributors on each side of the ball and will be worth watching for potential downgrades on Saturday. However, head coach Kellen Moore did say that all three are “trending well” ahead of the game.
Here is the information from the Saints’ side of the injury report:
New Orleans Saints
Questionable
- RB Alvin Kamara (ankle)
- WR Rashid Shaheed (hip)
- CB Alontae Taylor (shoulder)
No Game Designation (Good to Go)
- RB Devin Neal (ankle)
- TE Juwan Johnson (neck)
- WR Chris Olave (ankle)
- DT Davon Godchaux (NIR-rest)
With Kamara and Neal managing injury throughout the week, it would not be surprising to see second-year back Audric Estime elevated for this week’s game. The 5-foot-11, 227-pound back could be very useful in certain situations with a rookie quarterback at the helm. In any case, it seems likely that Neal will see more action after not receiving a single carry last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Los Angeles Rams
Doubtful:
- CB Darious Williams (shoulder)
No Game Designation (Good to Go):
- OL Rob Havenstein (ankle)
- S Kamren Kinchens (toe)
- WR Puka Nacua (ankle)
- TE Tyler Higbee (NIR-rest)
- OLB Byron Young (NIR-rest)
- OL Alaric Jackson (NIR-rest)
One of the Rams’ top names, Nacua, appears ready to return to the field on Sunday after being elevated to full participation on Friday. That’s going to add to the challenge ahead of the Saints’ secondary.
As for the Los Angeles defensive backs, as expected, Williams is a longshot to play. That puts the focus on newly acquired cornerback Roger McCreary, whom the team added via trade with the Tennessee Titans days ago. Something to watch with rookie passer Tyler Shough getting his first career start on the road.
The other additions to the injury report were just for rest purposes. Both teams are set to be mostly healthy going into this game.
