INGLEWOOD, La. – It wasn’t a fast start by the New Orleans Saints in Los Angeles, but as the first half came to an end, rookie quarterback Tyler Shough connected with tight end Juwan Johnson on his career touchdown pass.

The play capped off a six-play, 59-yard drive that included four first downs and a solid showing from Shough. The rookie was 4/5 on the drive, not including spikes to stop the clock throughout the 47-second drive to finish the second quarter.
The drive also included a big hit on Shough that looked like it was going to be ruled a sack, but because the hit by Rams outside linebacker Byron Young was high, it turned into a fifteen-yard penalty. Shough found his tight end on the very next play.
Shough also found wide receiver Chris Olave on a great 27-yard strike at an earlier point as he stepped up to avoid the pressure that’s been coming his way all game thus far.
The touchdown pass concluded the most promising drive the Saints have offered up this game. Now, going into the second half, all eyes will be on following it up. New Orleans has possessed the ball six times in the first half with four three and outs. The other two drives have put points on the board as the team trails 20-10 ahead of the second half.
