We just saw our first true College Football Playoff elimination game, and another head coach shown the door. It’s been a wild SEC season already, and now we’re heading into November, the most chaotic month of all.
The Sad Six

15. South Carolina
14. Arkansas
13. Kentucky
12. Florida
11. Mississippi State
The Top Ten
-
LSU

The firing of Brian Kelly created a lot of chaos last week. Now we get to see if the interim coach bump will be in effect in Tuscaloosa this Saturday.
-
Missouri

Missouri was on a bye, which was much needed considering true freshman Matt Zollers will be in charge of closing out the season at QB.
-
Vanderbilt

It was an ugly loss for Vanderbilt. The season isn’t over yet, and 10-2 is still on the table. But Saturday’s game against Texas was definitely a crack in the foundation of confidence this team has had all year.
-
Tennessee

Joey Aguilar’s turnover issues cost them a win on Saturday. Tennessee outgained the Sooners by 100 yards and had ten more first downs. That doesn’t matter when your quarterback can’t throw it to the team in orange instead of white.

Oklahoma

They got a massive win on the road against Tennessee this weekend. The Sooners capitalized on turnovers and great special teams play. They get a bye week to prepare for a massive showdown against Alabama in two weeks.

Texas

Is Texas back? Maybe. Disregard the final score and box score from Diego Pavia on Saturday. Texas dominated this game from the start. The Longhorns scored on the first play and were up 34-10 in the fourth quarter.
It feels like Arch Manning has turned a very significant corner. It’s even better news that Colin Simmons and Anthony Hill Jr seemed to take over defensively. Texas finished with six sacks in the game against a Vanderbilt offensive line that has only allowed seven all season.

• 6.5 sacks
• 8.0 tackles for loss
• 2 forced fumbles
• 1 fumble recovery
• 1 pass deflection

Ole Miss

Ole Miss played with their food a bit against South Carolina. They struggled to consistently sustain drives against the Gamecocks, but in the end they were able to pull away in the fourth. Kewan Lacy had 167 yards on 24 carries and was able to pick up the offensive slack for Trinidad Chambliss who struggled for the first time all season.
Ole Miss might have the best chance of any team in the conference to finish out the month of November without a blemish.

Georgia

There are few things that Georgia does at an elite level, except for winning games. They continue to do that better than anyone under Kirby Smart. Very few of their wins this season have been pretty. The win against Florida fit that profile to a tee.
Georgia outlasted their archrival in Jacksonville and Kirby Smart has now won eight of the last nine against the Gators. What was supposed to be the toughest stretch of the season is over. But, thanks to a resurgence from Arch Manning and Texas, a really solid Georgia Tech team, and a trip to Starkville, the question of whether or not Georgia can win out is in question.

-
Alabama

Alabama was on a bye, but gets ready to finish the season with LSU, Oklahoma and a trip to Jordan-Hare. They’ll play two of their final three games against interim head coaches.
-
Texas A&M

Texas A&M was on a bye this week, but the Aggies lead the SEC in scoring margin in conference play at 14.4 ppg and are one of eight teams with a 3-0 record or better in true road games this season.
