On Tuesday, the Pelicans announced that Williamson has been diagnosed with a grade 1 left hamstring strain that will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days. Hamstring issues have plagued Williamson since he entered the NBA. He missed nearly all of November and all of December with a hamstring injury last season.
Earlier this season, Williamson missed a game with a left foot bone contusion. The sixth-year pro is averaging 22.8 points and 6.8 rebounds through five games.
The Pelicans are 0-6 and take on Charlotte Tuesday night.
