BATON ROUGE, La. – The fifth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team defeated Georgia Southern, 118-70, on Sunday at Hill Convocation Center in Statesboro, GA.
The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday, November 12. The game will tip off at 7:00 p.m. CT back inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
LSU improves its record to 3-0 overall on the season, while Georgia Southern drops to 1-2.
The Tigers shot 46-of-87 (52.9%) from the floor while the Eagles were 22-of-59 (37.3%). LSU were 17-of-26 (65.4%) from the free throw line and 9-of-20 (45%) from the 3-point range. Additionally, they tallied 25 assists, 59 rebounds and 9 steals.
Flau’Jae Johnson and MiLaysia Fulwiley led the Tigers tonight, finishing with 19 points. In addition to F. Johnson and Fulwiley, four other Tigers finished in double figures including ZaKiyah Johnson (17), Mikaylah Williams (15), Grace Knox (13) and Kate Koval (12), contributing to the team’s season high of 118 points.
Kyla Bryant was the leading scorer for the Eagles, finishing with 18 points on five-of-11 shooting.
