There were no interim coach bumps that resulted in a win this weekend, as three interim coaches lost and a fourth was on a bye. Still, we learned plenty from the top five teams, all speeding toward a potential one-loss tiebreaker disaster scenario if any upsets unfold down the stretch.
Here are the Week 12 SEC Power Rankings.
The Sad Six
16. South Carolina
15. Florida
14. Arkansas
13. Auburn
12. Mississippi State
11. Kentucky
The Top Ten
-
LSU
The Tigers came out swinging on Saturday. The defense played extremely well, and held Alabama under 350 yards and to just 2.2 on the ground. The offensive struggles continue to persist, though.
-
Missouri
Missouri may be in trouble the rest of the way. The schedule isn’t too daunting with only one team over .500 remaining on the schedule. But, the offense looked horrible against the Aggies as Matt Zollers was just 4-of-14 for 36 yards going into the fourth quarter of his first start.

Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt did everything they could to dash their own College Football Playoff hopes this weekend. They held on for a 45-38 win against Auburn in overtime. Diego Pavia was incredible against the Tigers, completing 76% of his passes for 489 yards of offense and four touchdowns.

Tennessee
Tennessee was on a bye. Joey Aguilar still probably managed to throw an interception.
-
Oklahoma
Oklahoma was on a bye. This week they head to Tuscaloosa in another top ten showdown to try and keep their playoff hopes alive.
-
Texas
Texas got a bye week before they head back on the road to one of the toughest environments in college football. The Longhorns have looked much better over the last several weeks, which has been spearheaded by the emergence of Arch Manning. Over his last two games Manning has averaged 342 yards of offense and accounted for seven touchdowns.

Ole Miss
Ole Miss dominated The Citadel 49-0. The hay is effectively in the barn for the Rebels who have two games left against 3-6 Florida and 5-5 Mississippi State.
-
Georgia
The Bulldogs ran for over 300 yards against Mississippi State and did pretty much whatever they wanted offensively. However, the defense did allow 21 points. This weekend will tell us a lot more as we get a rematch of last year’s SEC Championship in Athens.
UGA Texas is going to be electric 🔥
Must win game for Texas if they want to be in the CFB Playoffs. Georgia looking for 3 straight wins over the Longhorns.

Alabama
Alabama won by enough against LSU, but they didn’t look overly impressive. They were just 30.8% on third downs and once again could not get the run game going. Ty Simpson continues to be absolutely incredible for Alabama and still has one interception on the season with just three weeks to play.

- Texas A&M
Texas A&M improved to 9-0 for the first time since 1992. More importantly they can no longer go 8-4. Welcome to the nightmare for everyone outside of College Station.
