The New Orleans Saints didn’t take the field on Sunday and won’t this week as they rest up throughout their bye. However, their draft outlook has still changed and could see more shifts before the week’s games have wrapped up.
Going into the weekend, the Saints held the No. 2 overall selection. But after the early afternoon slot of games mostly wrapped up, the team has dropped to the No. 3 overall pick.
The Tennessee Titans retained the No. 1 overall selection after losing another matchup to the Houston Texans, even though the team was without starting quarterback C.J. Stroud. It was the New York Giants and their loss that leapt New Orleans in the order.
The Giants fell to 2-9 by virtue of not yet having their off week. Because they have more losses than the Saints, the Giants will hold the better pick.
New Orleans could sink further as the Week 11 games come to a close. A late-afternoon contest could see the Cleveland Browns (2-7) drop to a tying record with New Orleans. But the Browns’ strength of schedule is currently less than that of New Orleans, which would give Cleveland the tie-breaker.
By the end of the week, the Saints could be holding the No. 4 overall pick before welcoming the potentially hampered Atlanta Falcons next Sunday.
