METAIRIE, La. – Some much needed good news has arrived for the New Orleans Saints as they wrap up the practice week ahead of their Week 13 game at the Miami Dolphins.
Wide receiver Chris Olave, who suffered a back injury during Wednesday’s practice, was back at practice after being absent on Thursday. This is promising news for the Saints, who have seen their offensive weapons either depart or limited with injury over the past few weeks.
Whether or not Olave will be good to go in time for Sunday’s game will likely be a decision that goes down to game time, but a return to practice to close out the week is certainly an encouraging sign.
The only player that was not seen during the portion of practice that was open to the media was running back Alvin Kamara. The dynamic backfield threat went down awkwardly during a tackle against the Atlanta Falcons last weekend and was ruled out of the game at halftime.
With Kamara trending towards not playing, (based on his three absences this week) rookie Devin Neal and second-year back Audric Estime will have to shoulder the load at the position. New Orleans also signed running back Evan Hull to the active roster from their practice squad, who could be looked to for contributions, as well..
The week’s final injury report will include game designations for Olave and Kamara, as well as starting right tackle Taliese Fuaga, who was elevated to full participation on Friday and is trending his way back to the field.
