Plenty of decisions are to be made on LSU’s defensive staff in the coming days.
Football Scoop is reporting that one of them could be hiring Elijah Robinson away from Syracuse to be LSU’s defensive line coach. Robinson has been defensive coordinator at Syracuse for two seasons, and head coach Fran Brown announced that he would no longer serve in that role moving forward. Instead, he’d be co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.
Robinson was Jimbo Fisher’s defensive line coach at Texas A&M and took over as interim head coach when Fisher was fired in 2023. He’s known as an elite recruiter and at one point helped secure commitments from LSU’s Gabriel Reliford and Dominick McKinley before both flipped to LSU when Robinson took the job at Syracuse.
Prior to his six-year run at Texas A&M, Robinson worked at Baylor, Temple and Penn State where he played from 2004 to 2007.
Former Tiger Kyle Williams is finishing his first season at LSU as the defensive line coach.
