Teams only completed 48 percent of passes targeted at Pickett, and he only allowed one touchdown on the season. That came on the busted coverage in the Oklahoma game, a mental error as opposed to being beaten by a wide receiver.
In Corey Raymond’s second season with the program, Mansoor Delane became a finalist for the Thorpe Award and Pickett was tabbed the best freshman defender in the nation.
