Tish Deans-Gales on Facebook
By Matt Moscona
A decade after he was left paralyzed on the football field at the University of Georgia, Devon Gales is now a college graduate.
Gales’s mother Tish Deans-Gales shared the news on her Facebook page.
While playing football for Southern University, Gales was paralyzed after a collision during a kickoff return. Gales was treated at Shepherd Center in Atlanta after his injury. In 2019, the Gales family moved into a handicapped-equipped home in nearby Jefferson, Ga., where he still resides.
Gales enrolled at Georgia in 2021 and finished his degree in communications, according to a recent feature story published by the university.
