NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Saints may not be playing for playoff positioning, but the team took the field with the attitude of a club with something to prove. While it wasn’t a perfect win against the New York Jets with several long drives ending in field goals, the Saints did more than enough, especially defensively, to get a definitive win over New York.
The Story
It was an all-around performance for New Orleans. Quarterback Tyler Shough became the first Saints’ passer to top 300 passing yards in exactly two years in the Saints’ 29-6 blowout victory over the Jets. Wide receiver Chris Olave charted a career high with 148 receiving yards in the game.
Defensively, the unit totaled eight sacks, the first time since Week 15 last year. New Orleans notched two takeaways.
Special teams was a major contributor putting points on the board. Kicker Charlie Smyth drilled a club-record tying five field goals.
Every phase of the game for New Orleans was churning on their way to a win in their final appearance at home in the Caesars Superdome. New Orleans has now won four of their last six games and have a lot of momentum going into their final pair of games on the road to wrap up the year.

- Smyth is the first Saints kicker to make five field goals in a game since Blake Grupe in 2023.
