METAIRIE, La. – New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore provided updates on the injuries of two players that left Sunday’s win over the New York Jets early.
Tight end Foster Moreau left after going down awkwardly from a takedown that Moore described as being “hip-drop tackle-ish” in quality. Moreau’s ankle was caught underneath him in the process. He then limped to the injury tent where he was evaluated before leaving the field and heading back to the locker room.
On the next Saints defensive possession, defensive tackle Bryan Bresee was tended to on the field following an Alontae Taylor sack. He was checked on the field by training staff for a short while, during which several of Bresee’s teammates took a knee on the field around him. Like Moreau, he was then taken to the injury tent before eventually being escorted to the locker room. Bresee was ruled questionable to return with a knee injury.
Neither player returned to action.
Moore’s update suggests that both will be out for Sunday’s upcoming game at the Tennessee Titans and carries an undercurrent that both may be done for the season.
“Probably time lost with those two guys,” Moore said of the impact of their injuries. “That’s the anticipation. We’ll see how the rest of the week plays itself out with regards to the last two games of the season.”
The head coach also provided positive news around how the players’ 2026 seasons may be impacted by the late-season injuries.
“I don’t think these are things that will impact next season potentially, or anything like that,” said Moore.
The long-term outlook of both injuries could very well change by the time OTAs or even Week 1 of the 2026 season begins, but at least for now the early prognosis is that while they may each miss time to close out this season, a return to the field may not be slowed next year.
Bresee is in the third year of his rookie contract and is eligible to have his fifth-year option picked up in the upcoming offseason. Meanwhile, Moreau is set to head to free agency unless he and the Saints agree upon a deal to bring him back to New Orleans before another team snatches him up.
