The hype around New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough continues to grow and the numbers are backing it up.
Not only is Shough leading the 2025 rookie quarterback class in multiple passing metrics, including completion percentage and games won.
Now, Pro Football Focus has the No. 40 overall pick ranked as their top rookie passer with at least six game appearances and No. 17 across all NFL quarterbacks.
Rookie AB PFF Grades:
- New Orleans Saints QB Tyler Shough – 75.3
- New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart – 66.6
- Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward – 59.8
- Cleveland Browns QB Dillon Gabriel – 49.0
- Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders – 48.6
Recently, Shough has also shot up the oddsmaker’s boards for Offensive Rookie of the Year. Before his Week 16 win and 300-yard passing performance, he was ranked No. 5 among the NFL offensive rookie class to win the honor. He is now sitting at No. 2 with a pair of road games left to take the top spot.
Call it hype, but it’s clear that Shough is passing both the numbers test and eye test in his stellar performances as the Saints’ rookie starter.
