LSU defensive back Javien Toviano did not make the trip to Houston for the Texas Bowl and is expected to enter the transfer portal, sources have confirmed to LouisianaSports.net.
Toviano was not practicing with the team in Baton Rouge in recent days. LSU left for Houston on Wednesday in advance of Saturday’s game against the Houston Cougars.
Across three seasons, Toviano has played in 38 games with four starts. Three starts came in 2023 when Toviano was a true freshman. This season, the majority of his 238 snaps have come on special teams, according to Pro Football Focus.
As a recruit, the 6-foot-1, 197 pound safety out of Arlington (Martin) Texas, was a consensus four-star and the No. 59 overall prospect according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.
LSU has had ten players publicly declare their intention to enter the portal. Toviano would be the eleventh.
