New Orleans will close out its season against its most bitter NFC South rival with an unprecedented chance to finish second in the division after a four-game win streak in December.
Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough has done just about everything necessary to win over the trust of the fanbase. He’s won inside the division, has led comeback wins and has played very well since becoming the starting, winning five of his eight starts. The one thing left would be to get a win against the Falcons, who toppled the Shough-led Saints 24-10 earlier this season.
It will be an eventful day for the NFC South. The division’s hottest team will be facing its most hated opponent while the champion of the division is decided a day earlier.
The Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will square off in the late-afternoon slot of Saturday’s slate of games with a No. 4 NFC seed on the line.
