ATLANTA, Ga. — The New Orleans Saints have announced their Saturday roster moves ahead of the team’s season finale against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Saints announced three moves in total:
- Signed TE Treyton Welch to active roster
- Elevated QB Jake Haener for game day
- Elevated RB Nyheim Hines for game day
The elevation of Haener indicates that second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler won’t be available Sunday. He did not practice all week with a finger injury and was listed as questionable coming into the matchup.
Welch and Hines will help to provide depth to their positions, which are impacted by numerous injuries as the season comes to a close.
Hines could also help the team from a special teams perspective as a returner. This could be a chance for him to earn consideration to return for camp to vie for a spot in next year’s roster.
