It’s referred to as Black Monday in the NFL. The day after the regular season ends is usually filled with head coach firings and speculation on what’s next for the teams looking for a new coach.
Earlier this season, the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants fired their head coaches.
Sunday night, Raheem Morris got fired by the Atlanta Falcons. Monday, Kevin Stefanski of the Cleveland Browns, Pete Carroll of the Las Vegas Raiders and Jonathan Gannon of the Arizona Cardinals were shown the door.
The cycle of coaches that were hired last year had great success as division winners in New England, Jacksonville and Chicago all have new coaches including two first-time head coaches in Liam Coen and Ben Johnson.
This year’s Mike Vrabel could be Kevin Stefanski or Brian Flores. This year’s Liam Coen or Ben Johnson could be Klint Kubiak, Joe Brady, or Chris Shula.
