Princewill Umanmielen has committed to LSU following his visit over the weekend. Some drama unfolded as he and Ole Miss worked out the paperwork to get him officially into the portal, but that did happen in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
Tuesday was the final day to register for spring classes at LSU. To participate in spring football, players would have had to enroll.
Umanmielen had nine sacks in 2025 to pace the Rebel defense. He was also credited with 15 hurries and three pass breakups.
This is transfer No. 2 for the younger Umanmielen who started his college career at Nebraska where he played in 2023 and 2024. He’ll have one season of eligibility remaining. Because Umanmielen signed a revenue sharing agreement with Ole Miss, LSU will be forced to pay to buy his way out of that contract.
That number is reportedly $550,000.
Princewill Umanmielen is officially in the transfer portal. The Ole Miss defensive end is expected to go to LSU. The Tigers (or whichever school he chooses) will owe the Rebels ~$550,000 in buyout compensation.

Umanmielen is 6-foot-5 and an imposing 245 lbs. He was named to the All-SEC third team in 2025. As a high schooler, Umanmielen was a consensus four-star recruit.
His older brother, Princely, was a third round pick of the Panthers in the 2025 NFL Draft.
LSU has now bolstered its pass rush with three SEC edge players — Umanmielen. Jordan Ross of Tennessee and Jaylen Brown of South Carolina.
