It was a big day on the hardwood around the SEC on Saturday. Here’s a recap of the biggest moments.
Cheaters Never Win
Alabama wasn’t breaking the rules by allowing Charles Bediako to play against Tennessee. They did the same thing several players and programs have done to the NCAA over the last several years in getting a temporary restraining order to allow him to play. It was embarrassing regardless, and the optics couldn’t have been worse from a PR standpoint, especially with the loss that followed.
Bediako was good, playing 25 minutes and scoring 13 points, but that’s what you would expect from a professional player playing against amateurs. In the end, Alabama lost their fifth straight time to the Vols, and the nation’s most prolific offense scored under 76 points for the ninth game in a row under Nate Oats against Tennessee.

Auburn’s Historic Win
Auburn went to Gainesville looking for their first win at Florida in 30 years, and they did just that.
They didn’t miss a single shot in the first five minutes and opened up a 15-5 lead at the first under four timeout. Keyshawn Hall was fantastic and put in 24 points for the Tigers. Florida fought back in the second half to tie it, but Auburn pulled away and got a 76-67 win. It was a huge win for Steven Pearl and the program who had lost 27 of the previous 33 meetings dating back to 1996.
