The New Orleans Saints are retaining another key piece of their offensive coaching staff. Tight ends coach Chase Haslett, who was being interviewed for a position with the Pittsburgh Steelers, will remain in New Orleans, per NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.
Sources: #Saints TEs coach Chase Haslett — who interviewed for the #Steelers passing game coordinator/TEs coaching position — will also remain in New Orleans.
I’m told it was Haslett’s decision. A fast-rising coach to watch moving forward in upcoming cycles. https://t.co/j75I2Ezkip pic.twitter.com/yRrmueNF0j

The Saints got a career year out of tight end Juwan Johnson under the tutelage of Haslett, who is the son of former Saints head coach Jim Haslett.
The younger Haslett was under consideration for the Steelers’ tight ends coach and passing game coordinator roles and has a strong connection with Pittsburgh’s new head coach Mike McCarthy. The two overlapped with the Dallas Cowboys.
Per Schultz, the decision to remain in New Orleans was Haslett’s own, making him the second coach to choose to remain with the Saints rather than taking an elevated position with the Steelers. Saints quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzien, who was being considered for the offensive coordinator role with the team also decided to stay in New Orleans for another year.
Both coaches, Haslett and Tolzien, are likely to see their names come up in more opportunities next offseason. Especially if the two continue to see strong performances from their position groups in 2026.
