SAN FRANCISCO, Ca. – NFL Honors is right around the corner. The end-of-year league celebration and award ceremony will recognize some of the best performances of the 2025 season with numerous awards as well as some of the greatest players in the league’s history as the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class is named. At which time, former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is expected to join the league’s most prestigious career elite.
As many learned during this year’s Hall of Fame process, nothing is guaranteed with names like legendary coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft both being snubbed this season.
But the expectation is very much that Brees’ bid won’t meet the same fate.
How could it? Brees retired as the all-time leader in passing yards (now second), all-time leader in completions (now second), holding the most 5,000 yard passing seasons (5) and many other records that he still holds today, including the highest completion percentages in a single season with a remarkable 74.4%.
Whether it’s bringing a Super Bowl championship to New Orleans or spinning off two Atlanta Falcons defenders on an unprecedented touchdown run, Brees is etched in the memory of every NFL fan.

The story of the league can’t be told without him. From his days as a San Diego Chargers passer to he and his family’s revitalization efforts in the city of New Orleans post-Hurricane Katrina, Brees’ name became synonymous with “hope,” and he is still the gold standard of competition and connection.
NFL Honors will air Thursday night at 8 p.m. CT/9 p.m. ET on NBC and NFL Network with corresponding streaming options available on Peacock and NFL Plus respectively.
Along with Brees, Saints linebacker Demario Davis, quarterback Tyler Shough and former offensive lineman Jahri Evans could all possibly hear their names called for recognition as well.
