It’s opening day for baseball around the SEC, but don’t let that get in the way of the home stretch of the SEC basketball schedule. Here’s a look at what to watch for this weekend.
Game of the week – Kentucky at Florida
Kentucky heads to Florida in what has been the best annual matchup in the conference for the last 20 years. After a slow start to the season, the Wildcats have come on strong and won three in a row. They head to Gainesville just one game out of first place with an 8-3 record in the SEC. The Gators have been equally as hot, absolutely dismantling teams over the last several weeks. The Gators sit alone atop the SEC standings with a 9-2 conference record winning nine of their last ten games. That includes four straight wins by an average of 27.3 ppg.
It should be a good one on Saturday in Gainesville.
Florida’s won 4 games in a row with a point differential of +27.3 & averaging 91.8 PTS/g
We know their frontcourt is elite, but tonight the backcourt (Xaivian, Boogie, & Urb) combined for 41 points on 50% shooting

Who’s on Upset Alert? Georgia
There’s not a ton to pick from this week outside of Georgia traveling to Oklahoma and Vanderbilt hosting Texas A&M. I would have included Auburn at Arkansas, but Arkansas seems to be hitting stride and Auburn is just 2-4 on the road this season.
I’ll take Oklahoma against Georgia. Yes, the Sooners are currently tied for last place in the SEC, but they did go on the road last week and get a big win against Vanderbilt. They’re at home this week in what can be a nightmare for some road teams in an empty arena mid-afternoon. The Sooners are coming off that win against Vanderbilt and got a full week of rest before this game. Georgia is coming off a 20 point loss to Florida and have lost four of their last five games overall. Their only win in the last three weeks was against lowly LSU.
Take the Sooners.

Lock of the Week
The lock of the week is now 5-0 and the upset pick of the week is 3-2. We are on fire this season. Let’s stay hot with this week’s pick.
Arkansas -5.5
