Enjoy the hoops weekend because Sunday we will wake up in March.
There are still two weekends left in the SEC regular season, and there is plenty left to decide. We get rivalries in the Lonestar state, the third Saturday in October basketball edition, and one of the best ranked matchups of the year. Enjoy!
Latest Bracketology
The SEC is playing with fire. In the latest Bracketology update from Joe Lunardi, the SEC still leads all conferences with 11 teams in the projected 68 team tournament. That’s great on paper, but the concern is where some of those teams are. The SEC has five of their 11 teams listed on the last four byes (4) and the last four in (1) lines. Here’s a look at every team currently projected to make the field and their seeding:
No. 2 Florida
No. 4 Alabama
No. 5 Arkansas
No. 5 Tennessee
No. 5 Vanderbilt
No. 7 Kentucky
No. 9 Georgia
No. 10 Texas A&M
No. 10 Missouri
No. 10 Texas
No. 11 Auburn

Game of the Week
Alabama at Tennessee has way more on the line than any other game this week. The winner of that game is almost assured the No. 2 spot in the SEC Tournament. Those two teams are not only bitter rivals but they sit just one game apart from each other in the current standings.
The game of the week, though, is No. 7 Florida hosting No. 20 Arkansas. Florida is one of the hottest teams in the country. Arkansas has arguably the best player in the country in Darius Acuff. This should be an awesome game to watch on a weekend full of good games around the league.

Who’s on Upset Alert?
Missouri travels to Mississippi State in a must-win scenario. At the very least they can’t afford to lose in Starkville. Are those the same things? Probably. I don’t know, and I haven’t had my coffee yet. Missouri is 4-7 on the road this season. Mississippi State is coming off an embarrassing loss to Alabama where the Tide hit roughly a million threes, but they have been tougher at home and still have Josh Hubbard.
