Former No. 1 overall NFL draft pick Kyler Murray appears to be at a career crossroads after reports that the Arizona Cardinals plan to release the quarterback this offseason. The 28-year-old, who won the Heisman Trophy at University of Oklahoma before becoming the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, is expected to draw interest from teams around the league if he hits free agency.
At the same time, baseball has unexpectedly reentered the conversation. Murray was the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft by the Oakland Athletics, and the club recently reiterated it would be open to him exploring a return to the sport if he ever chose to revisit baseball.
Leading sportsbook Bovada has now released odds on whether Murray could make the jump back to MLB:
Kyler Murray to Return to MLB for the 2026/27 Season

With his NFL future suddenly uncertain, Murray’s rare two-sport background has once again sparked discussion around whether the former first-round baseball prospect could follow a path similar to dual-sport legends.
