Everyone loves a reunion in the NFL and the New Orleans Saints just pulled off another Louisiana return.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Saints are bringing back linebacker Kaden Elliss on a three-year, $33 million contract with $23 million guaranteed.
Elliss, who has been with the Atlanta Falcons since his rookie contract expired in New Orleans, is a versatile and athletic second-level player that can make an impact both as an off-ball linebacker and as a pass rusher. He should fit well in defensive coordinator Brandon Staley’s system.

In 2025, Elliss had 107 combined tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, an interception and forced fumble. He’s a disruptive and active player that has grown into a leader in the Falcons defense. He’ll bring that leadership to New Orleans shortly after the departure of former starter Demario Davis was set to take place.
Elliss entered the league in 2019 and was under the tutelage of Davis for four seasons before earning a starting role on the market. Now 30 years old, he brings that experience back to a familiar place in the Crescent City.
The 2019 seventh-round pick will join linebackers Pete Werner, Danny Stutsman, Isaiah Stalbird and Jaylan Ford in a room that’s gone from the risk of being depleted to one now ripe with competition.
