Former LSU signee Konnor Griffin has emerged as the betting favorite to win the 2026 NL Rookie of the Year Award.
The initial 2026 MLB Rookie of the Year favorites at BetOnline.ag were two young pitchers that had an enormous impact on their current teams in 2025 yet are still eligible to win the 2026 award.
Those two pitchers are Trey Yesavage of the Blue Jays and Nolan McLean of the Mets.
Yesavage pitched only 14 innings in the regular season yet was massive in the playoffs going 3-1 with five starts and pitching 27.2 innings.
McLean went 5-1 in eight starts and had 57 strikeouts in 48 innings. He was two innings under the rookie max of 50 innings and retained his eligibility.
He’s been so good that he’s starting for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic.
Despite all the glowing information above, there are two new favorites at BetOnline.ag for rookie of the year and they have a massive age gap.
Kazuma Okamoto (29) and 19-year-old Griffin are the new favorites.
