Alabama’s NCAA tournament run is already off to a rocky start, and none of it has anything to do with being on the court.

Junior guard Aden Holloway was arrested on Monday morning for first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a time stamp per Nick Kelly from AL.com.

The West Alabama Narcotics Task Force discovered more than a pound of marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia and cash, at his residence. He was arrested and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Holloway was in the midst of his best season to date, scoring 16.8 ppg and shooting nearly 44 percent from three this season. The former Auburn transfer was named second team All-SEC prior to last week’s SEC men’s basketball tournament.

Alabama was named a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. They are set to begin tournament play this Friday in Tampa, Florida against Hofstra. Neither Alabama or head coach Nate Oats has addressed the situation with the media as of Monday morning.
