Seldom-used infielders haven’t stuck around much at LSU.
Add Ethan Clauss to the list. The Las Vegas native will enter the transfer portal, LouisianaSports.net has learned. Clauss played in 11 games and went 1-for-4 at the plate with a triple.
When he signed with LSU, the 6-foot-2 shortstop was considered the No. 37 prep shortstop in the country by Perfect game. The outlet ranked him the No. 105 player nationally.
Steven Milam is likely to be selected in the MLB Draft which could leave LSU with only Jack Ruckert returning with middle infield experience. Seth Dardar and Brayden Simpson graduated. Trent Caraway is draft eligible.
Clauss is playing in the Northwoods League this summer and will look elsewhere to continue his career.
