LSU’s fall from No. 1 to unranked is complete.
The Tigers (14-7, 1-2) fell from three major polls (D1 Baseball, Baseball America and Perfect Game) on Monday after losing a series to Vanderbilt. LSU has lost back-to-back weekends and six of nine games. Just last week, LSU was No. 13 according to D1 Baseball.
More sobering is the fact that only Louisiana-Lafayette is ranked among LSU’s first 13 opponents. Seven ranked opponents await including the next three on the weekend.
UCLA remains atop every poll with Texas and Georgia Tech slotted right behind them. D1 Baseball ranks six SEC teams in the top 10. The Tigers will not play No. 2 Texas, No. 4 Arkansas or No. 5 Auburn this season.
