While “top-30” is a misnomer when it comes to the pre-draft process, the latest reported New Orleans Saints visit is truly a top-30 player in this year’s NFL Draft.
Per NFL and college football analyst Ryan Fowler, the Saints are among the teams set to host LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane for a top-30 visit before the draft.
Each team has the ability to host 30 players at their facility to conduct physicals, tour the facility, meet with the coaching staff and more. Most teams don’t use the full 30-player allotment, but the visits do show some sense of genuine interest.
New Orleans has a need at cornerback, but more specifically in the slot. Delane is a lockdown perimeter corner that has thrived both in man and zone coverage.
Of the 166 draft eligible FBS cornerbacks with at least 200 coverage snaps in 2025, Delane forced the seventh-lowest passer rating (28.3) when targeted in man coverage and the second-lowest passer rating (14.6) while in zone coverage.
His ability to be scheme versatile and disruptive at the catch point, forcing the third-lowest completion percentage (40%) when targeted among the same group of cornerbacks in 2025 is why Delane is a lock to be a first round selection.

While the Saints are in need of help in the slot following the departure of Alontae Taylor, drafting Delane at No. 8 overall shouldn’t be ruled out. New Orleans is fond of investing highly at the position and could look to pair boundary starter Kool-Aid McKinstry and Delane on the outside, while allowing second-year cornerback Quincy Riley to move inside.
Riley has some slot experience from college and has expressed a fondness for manning the position.
Cornerback has the potential to be one of the team’s strongest position rooms in 2026. The addition of Delane would solidify that.
