Cooper Moore could return to the mound for LSU around the midway mark of SEC play.
The junior hurler left his Friday night start with an arm injury. He had imaging done on Saturday morning that revealed relatively positive news.
“Theres nothing structurally wrong, but there is some swelling that we need to get down,” said LSU head coach Jay Johnson. “So, the only way to do that is to give him some time which is about probably a week to 10 days. And then, to be responsible with his returns to throwing, a minimum of a week to 10 days. I kind up just added those two up, and it’s probably about three weeks from now is probably bets case scenario.”
When a pitcher exits a game after a pitch, the fear of a significant injury can creep in. Moore appears to have avoided that.
LSU will have to play the next couple of weeks at minimum without him. But a return feels reasonable.
