The New Orleans Saints are reportedly set to get an extra look at another first-round wide receiver ahead of the NFL Draft.
Per Tony Pauline of Essentially Sports, the Saints are among teams to hold a private workout with Washington wideout Denzel Boston.
The 6-foot-4, 212 pound pass-catcher is one of the class’s top wideouts and one of the best options for teams looking for a dominating X-receiver on the perimeter of their offense.
With 32-inch arms and a 35-inch vertical he plays above the rim as a red zone and jump ball threat. But his ability to make tough catches in traffic with impressive hand strength and surprising run after catch ability help him stand out as a multi-faceted threat.
While he did not run the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine and his Washington Pro Day, his quick burst off the line of scrimmage and ability to track the ball downfield when he stacks receivers allows him to separate without concerns of timed speed.
Boston isn’t often discussed where the Saints are selecting in this year’s first round, but should his lack of speed testing cause an unwarranted fall out of the opening round, he could be a steal in the second.
