The Ohio State to New Orleans Saints pipeline could prove to be alive and well in this year’s NFL Draft with several Buckeyes capturing the attention of the brass on Airline Drive. One of those high-level players is set to be on his way to the Crescent City for a pre-draft visit, per reports.
Per NFL and college football analyst Ryan Fowler, the Saints are among the teams set to host Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate.
The Buckeyes receiver is expected to be one of the first wideouts off the board come April’s draft. He totaled 51 receptions for 875 receiving yards and nine touchdown catches during the 2025 season. He achieved that while being the second wideout behind the team’s top option at the position, Jeremiah Smith.
Carnell Tate comes in at 6’2, 192lbs

The Saints have been often partnered with Tate at the No. 8 overall selections in expert mock drafts. Were he to end up being the Saints’ first-round pick, he would be partnered with another former Buckeyes wideout in Saints’ receiver Chris Olave. Olave put together a career year in 2026 with 100 receptions (only the second player in franchise history to reach that mark), 1,163 receiving yards and nine touchdown catches.
In particular, Olave put up very strong performances with quarterback Tyler Shough, who assumed the starting role partway through the year. Tate has expressed an interest and desire to work with Shough at the next level.
