The NFL Annual Meetings are set to kickoff in Phoenix, Ariz. on the NFC coaches speaking Monday morning. Among them, New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore will be in attendance.
Here are five of the biggest questions for Moore that will hopefully shed some light on some of the most intriguing storylines of the offseason.
1. What is the progress check on potential returns for defensive end Cameron Jordan and quarterback Taysom Hill?
As each day passes, the reunions feel further and further away. However, since neither door is completely closed on Jordan or Hill making a return to New Orleans, the curiosities will remain. As Hill potentially contemplates retirement and Jordan seeks value in his next opportunity, it is worth checking in on the progress of any conversions that may have taken place.
2. Where do things stand with a possible extension for wide receiver Chris Olave?
Similarly, there exists the potential for a big contract extension for Olave this offseason. However, a recent deal was struck between the Seattle Seahawks and Wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba, making him the highest-paid receiver in the NFL.
While that deal isn’t likely to impact Olave’s price tags this offseason, it could change everything if he and his representation decide to bet on the pass-catchers talents in 2026 and delay negotiations until next offseason.
With another strong year, Olave could quickly go from contending for a top-10 wide receiver deal to a top wide receiver deal.
3. Have there been conversations about the future for running back Alvin Kamara?
Questions have been circulating around Kamara’s future since a recent and in-depth adjustment was made to his contract. However, the impact of his contract being reworked says more about the Saints’ plan to open up spending money ahead of free agency than it does about Kamara’s future.
The free agency signing of explosive rusher Travis Etienne may be a more viable signal of something brewing.
4. Are there new details regarding the Paris game and training camp dates/location?
Although there have been rumors about the date and opponent in Paris, no official announcements have been made by the team or NFL. Perhaps more insight can be gleaned over this day’s events, even if not in conversation with Moore.
Moore could, however, provide further insight on the team’s plans for training, much like he did last year.
5. Will the team pick up Bryan Bresee’s fifth-year option?
Bresee’s fifth-year option is available to be picked up this offseason. His performances have spanned the spectrum of run-stopper to pass-rusher since entering the league. His value to the team and new defensive system will be an interesting scale to track. Picking up the defender’s fifth-year option does give a vote of confidence in the team’s vision of him as a part of their future.
