Gabe Lazo won’t be joining Kim Mulkey’s LSU staff after all.
Just four days after announcing Lazo as the newest addition to Muley’s staff, Lazo was hired by Central Florida as the Knights’ head coach.

Lazo was set to replace Gary Redus who accepted the Rutgers head coaching posiiton after four years on Mulkey’s staff at LSU.
Lazo spent the last two seasons as an assistant at Tennessee. Prior to his time with the Vols, he was the associate head coach at Mississippi State for two seasons. He has also spent time as an assistant at FIU, Stony Brook and George Washington.
Bob Starkey, Kaylin Rice and Seimone Augustus are all expected to return next season as assistants on Mulkey’s staff.
