Every NFL Draft there is a player that isn’t often discussed as a top-10 selection, but has the talent to be considered as such. This year’s example is Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion.
As one of the most dynamic playmakers in this year’s draft, the Charlotte, N.C. native is likely to go off the board higher than expected, but if not, could be in rage for the New Orleans Saints to make a move to bring him to the Big Easy via trade.

Concepcion would bring a new element to the Saints’ wide receiver room. His ability with the ball in his hands and ability to create immediate separation off of the line of scrimmage are both key traits that could be perfect for quarterback Tyler Shough to take advantage.
While the wideout didn’t run at the NFL Scouting Combine or a Pro Day, his speed is easy to see on film as he often cuts through defenses and creates breakaway plays.
His playmaking ability would be an impressive addition to the Saints’ wide receiver group led by do-it-all pass-catcher Chris Olave and big-bodied but fluid mover Devaughn Vele. He would also provide the Saints a dynamic returner in both the punt and kick return games.

Pros
- Eye-popping movement ability.
- Creates separation among the best in the class.
- Playmaking ability as a receiving and returner.
- Steady yards after catch threat
- Surprisingly good contested catch acumen for his size (10 of 15 in 2025)
- Finds open areas in zone coverage with ease.
- Elusive runner after the catch with the vision of a running back.
Opportunities for Growth
- Concentration drops matter of concern.
- Could develop lower gear to add dynamics to route-running.
- Willing but not particularly effective run blocker.
The Bottom Line
Although Concepcion has some concentration drops on tape and only reeled in 60.4% of his targets last year, quarterback accuracy played a role in some of those numbers. Because drops don’t often translate to the NFL, the concerns seem limited when it comes to pro clubs.
As a potential second-round selection or possible trade up target at the end of the first round, if New Orleans hits big on an elite defender at No. 8 overall and then land Concepcion, a game-breaking offensive talent, it will be hard to argue against the Saints’ strong start to the draft.
